Our third match announcement for BATTLE CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING 71: BEST IN BATTLE III OPENING ROUND is a ROUND 1 MATCH featuring the 2025 WRESTLER OF THE YEAR SAM YANNIS against THE BRIAN KENDRICK!
SAM YANNIS has a better year than all in 2025 which saw him hold the BCW Tag Team Championships, before winning the BCW Battle Express Championship and ending the year by defeating his forever foe in Levi Nixon in an Unsanctioned Match which was voted Match of the Year. In 2026 YANNIS has had to deal with the upper echelon of the Battle Kingdom, which included an opportunity for the BCW Heavyweight Championship and an opportunity to re-enter the BCW Battle Express Championship race when facing current WWE AAA combatant Aero Star.
Conversely BRIAN KENDRICK debuts in the Battle Kingdom for the first time, as he rolls around to the Best In Battle with a resume that keeps on growing from multi-time WWE Tag Team Champion, WWE Cruiserweight Champion and TNA X-Division Champion to the here and now. KENDRICK always one to live in his own world, will look to impress and go all the way.
THE SEXY GREEK BOY meets THE MAN WITH A PLAN – one almost won the grand prize in the Battle Kingdom while the other was an Interim WWE World Champion during a scramble match 18 years ago when Big Zeke was by his side!
