In our first match announcement for BATTLE CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING 40, the first event since the COVID interruption, the Battle Kingdom returns with a HARDCORE GRUDGE MATCH between two former BCW Heavyweight Champions – MADDOG and GABRIEL WOLFE!
In this Main Event the longest reigning Champion in BCW history the CRAZY CANINE looks to avenge the man he lost the Championship to THE SURGEON.
Over a year ago THE SURGEON won the annual Battle Rumble to become the No.1 Contender for the BCW Heavyweight Championship. Waiting patiently, his shot finally came at BCW 36 this past January where he and MADDOG fought to a No Contest after a ‘fan’ was knocked over.
Thereafter at BCW 38 a rematch took place inside of a Steel Cage where the ‘fan’ seated ringside revealed herself to be the valet to GABRIEL WOLFE slamming the steel cage door against the head of the CRAZY CANINE to assist her charge in becoming the only wrestler in the Battle Kingdom to hold two different championships and more significantly assisted WOLFE in becoming the BCW Heavyweight Champion!
As destiny would have it, neither WOLFE nor MADDOG hold the BCW Heavyweight Championship but the bad blood remains. Hence after some MADDOG Mathematics, it only makes sense that this match be the way of H A R D C O R E!
