BCW58 – RESULTS

Last night BATTLE CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING 58: BEST IN BATTLE OPENING ROUND took place at the South Eastern Entertainment Centre producing the following results:-

Opening – The show opened with the reveal of the Best In Battle Cup as each combatant appeared on stage.

Match 1 – Best In Battle Reserve Match:
Tome Filip Vs Carlo Cannon
The Taiga was in a bad mood before entering this contest, as Cannon returned to the Battle Kingdom, happier than ever before. The winner with the opportunity to be the Best In Battle alternate. The match was a pick ’em until Filip ended the affair with a Taiga Driver for the win.

Match 2 – Best In Battle Quarter Final Match:
Adam Brooks Vs Famous B
In the first of for official tournament matches, the Loose Ledge threw everything he had at Famous B. B endured before surprising the Battle Kingdom and nailing Brooks with a Gonna Be Fly Swanton Bomb for the clean victory. Famous B now advances to the Semi Finals.

Winner: Famous B via pinfall

Match 3 – BCW Women’s Championship Tables Match:
Caity Luxe Vs Vixsin Vs Cherry Stephens (c)
The anger was ever present between these three combatants, each having an issue with the other. It was not long before the tables entered the ring, with Vixsin branding a table with “DIE!” and Luxe bedazzling her own. Vixsin was dominant throughout until being double back suplexed through the table causing her elimination.
It was down to Luxe and Stephens, however Vixsin remained in the ring causing some further destruction. Luxe took out Vixsin with a frog splash before gaining the upper hand against Stephens. Luxe set up Stephens and with a frog splash through the table, recapturing the BCW Women’s Championship.
After the match the 2-time BCW Women’s Champion grabbed the mic and declared she will be taking the night off at BCW 59 as Vixsin and Stephens need to fight for the next opportunity.

Match 4 – Best In Battle Quarter Final Match:
Damian Slater Vs Tajiri
In a rematch eight years in the making, Slater was looking for revenge. Tajiri returning for the first time since BCW 50 was on his own mission. In a highly technical match, Slater and Tajiri grappled back and forth. Slater was unable to tame the Japanese Buzzsaw. Tajiri unleashed a barrage of devastating swift kicks to gain the victory and advance to the Semi Finals.

Winner: Tajiri via pinfall

Match 5 – BCW Tag Team Championship Ladder Match:
Slade Mercer/Gabriel Wolfe Vs The Sexy Greek Boys (c)
The blood was boiling as The Sexy Greek Boys sought retribution against their larger challengers. Yannis and Nixon used the ladders to attack their foes with no remorse. Slade and Wolfe tried everything to thwart the attack, almost ending the Hellenic reign. However with a damaged knee Nixon and Yannis both climbed a ladder rung by rung to retrieve their titles and retain.

Match 6 – Best In Battle Quarter Final Match:
Mitch Waterman Vs Maddog
The longest reigning BCW Battle Express Champion in Waterman took on the incumbent Champion in Maddog, without the gold on the line. In what exceeded ten minutes, Maddog taught Waterman a lesson in wrestling before Waterman repeatedly connected with laser like swift kicks and super kicks to put down the Crazy Canine like he was old yeller.

Match 7 – Robbie Thorpe, Barry Lucky O’Leary & This Guy Vs
Cletus, Bush Kelly & Krackerjak
The tag team partner of Cletus and Bush Kelly was a mystery until it was not, as Krackerjak was revealed. Startling Thorpe, O’Leary and This Guy, the Bogan Trio was on fire. Lit throughout the night, they took control and isolated This Guy nailing their finishers before Cletus closed the show with a “Hey Mum!” “Get Off The Damn Roof!” shooting star press.

Winners: Cletus, Bush Kelly & Krackerjak via pinfall

Match 8 – Best In Battle Quarter Final for BCW Heavyweight
Championship Match :
Gabriel Aeros Vs Mick Moretti (c)
In the main event Gabriel Aeros finally received his title shot. Aeros attacked throughout before Moretti utilised his experience and unorthodox style to baffle Aeros. With no answers, Aeros’ frustration lead to his own distraction leaving an opening for Moretti to nail a Curb Stomp for the victory. Moretti retained the BCW Heavyweight Championship and advanced to the Semi Finals of the Best In Battle.

Winner: …and STILL BCW Heavyweight Champion Mick Moretti via pinfall

 

Aftermath – Moretti remained in the ring to announce he will go on to win the Best In Battle, before being interrupted by Mitch Waterman, who was then interrupted by Famous B, who was then interrupted by Tajiri. Referee Dave Morgan calmed the combatants down until he made the mistake of touching the arm of Tajiri, prompting Tajiri to mist Morgan to end the show.
