ROB VAN DAM first featured in the Battle Kingdom back at BCW 8 where he defeated The Jurassic Punk Syd Parker. Thereafter RVD returned a year later as a part of the EXTREME BATTLE Tour where he defeated Parker for the BCW Heavyweight Championship, defended the same in Adelaide against Parker, Masato Tanaka and Jonah Rock, before a defence against Tajiri in Sydney.
ROB VAN DAM is of course a decorated combatant whom has enjoyed longevity in Professional Wrestling, winning the WWE World Championship from John Cena, while being crowned the first ECW World Heavyweight Champion of the WWE era after having captured the ECW World Television Championship and the ECW World Tag Team Championships alongside his best friend – the late Homicidal, Suicidal, Death Defying Sabu. Surrounded by Championships, RVD has become a WWE Grand Slam Champion, having also won renditions of the WWE World Tag Team Championships, the WWE Intercontinental Championship and the WWE European Championship (in which he unified) along with the WWE Hardcore Championship, Money in the Bank and is now a WWE Hall of Famer. Gold has been ever present in the ONE OF KIND’s history following him to TNA where he won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and the TNA X-Division Championship.
On the flipside THE RAPSCALLION MICK MORETTI returns to the Battle Kingdom while on hiatus, as the longest reigning BCW Heavyweight Championship in BATTLE CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING history and the only man to defend that strap three times in two nights to win the inaugural BEST IN BATTLE Tournament back in 2024. MORETTI is a man whom has defeated the likes of Taka Michinoku, Tajiri, PJ Black and the AAA Mega Champion at the time in El Hijo Del Vikingo!
Many view MORETTI’s career in the Battle Kingdom as after the time RVD had come and gone, however the start of the rise of THE RAPSCALLION was in fact at BCW 18 in Adelaide where he defeated Angelico in what was supposed to be a BCW Heavyweight Championship Match against Syd Parker. Parker of course went on to lose his title to ROB VAN DAM at BCW 20: Extreme Battle Night 1. To think these two combatants almost collided around eight years ago.
NOW ROB VAN DAM returns ‘ONE LAST TIME’ for this once in a lifetime matchup against THE RAPSCALLION MICK MORETTI as the question can now be asked – Who is the best to ever do it in BATTLE CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING? One of the greatest wrestlers of all time OR the greatest pound-for-pound wrestler Australia has ever seen?
