BCW66 – Match Annonucement 3

Our third official match announcement for BATTLE CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING 66 is the 7th Annual 15-Wrestler BATTLE RUMBLE!

Two combatants will start the match and every sixty seconds a new combatant will enter until all 15 combatants have entered the match. At any time, a combatant can be thrown over the top rope and both feet must touch the floor to mark their elimination until there is only one combatant remaining – who will be declared the 2025 Battle Rumble Winner and go on to have a BCW Heavyweight Championship shot on a later show?

The past has proven that winning this match can be difficult but the pressure of then challenging for the BCW Heavyweight Championship is even greater as the expectation needs to become a reality.

Past Winners Include:

2017: Johnathan Preston

Johnathan went on to challenge BCW Heavyweight Champion Slade Mercer, winning his initial shot via disqualification which led to a rematch where Johnathan fell short, before a final fatal four-way match involving then partner Alan Payne and Lucha Underground’s Mil Muertes (NB: Johnathan Preston went on to become a BCW Tag Team Champion and a BCW Battle Express Champion).

2018: Nick Bury

Slick Nick Bury won the 2nd Annual Battle Rumble as a part of the Extreme Battle Tour and to date this is the only version that took place in Sydney. Thereafter Bury faced Maddog both in an Ultraviolent Rules Match and singled match, however falling short in his bid for the big one (NB: Nick Bury eventually won the BCW Heavyweight Championship).

2019: Gabriel Wolfe

Wolfe won the 3rd rendition of the Battle Rumble and received his opportunity against Maddog which led to a No Contest. However, in the Steel Cage Rematch, Wolfe had a plan and escaped the cage to win the coveted BCW Heavyweight Championship (NB: In a shocking turn of events Wolfe lost the title one night later to Nick Bury in Sydney).

2020: No Battle Rumble due to COVID-19 Lockdowns.

2021: No Battle Rumble due to COVID-19 Lockdowns.

2022: PJ Black

PJ Black won the 4th Battle Rumble as the surprise international entrant. On that same night he defended his opportunity against Slex, who was a disgruntled runner-up. Thereafter the Darewolf returned to face BCW Heavyweight Champion Mick Moretti however failing to win the grand prize (NB: PJ Black returned a year later to attempt to repeat his win but was unsuccessful).

2023: Gabriel Aeros

The 5th Battle Rumble was won by tag team specialist, one-half of the BCW Tag Team Champions at the time, The Parea, namely Gabriel Aeros. Aeros eliminated Levi Nixon and then took more than six months to cash in his opportunity which was a Round 1 Best In Battle Match where he fell short against BCW Heavyweight Champion Mick Moretti (NB: At BCW 57 Aeros’ tag team partner, Eli Thesus received a title shot against Moretti claiming that he deserved the same as he and Aeros were united as a tag team).

2024: Gore

Gore was the BCW Battle Express Champion when he won the 6th edition of the Battle Rumble and had his hand held high above his head by Guest Commissioner Kurt Angle. Earlier in the night Gore defended the BCW Battle Express Championship, setting up the first ever Champion Vs Champion bout in Battle Championship Wrestling history. Gore went on to defeat BCW Heavyweight Champion, Mick Moretti to hold all the gold (NB: Gore became the first ever Champ-Champ of the Battle Kingdom).
